Impact on India if Donald Trump becomes President of United States
Donald
Trump’s incessant statements on India outsource the possibility of a negative
impact on India-U.S relations if he becomes the president of United States of
America. As he has claimed to “acknowledge the
tremendous danger and uncertainty of certain people coming into U.S”, his
determination to wreck the alliance between the two countries is
unquestionable. Yet,
the possible outcomes of the proposed policy regarding H1-B visa by Trump could
bring the continuous brain-drain to an end.
If the
minimum wages for H1-B visas are raised, then it would constrict STEM
professionals from obtaining U.S visa easily. It would simultaneously prevent
big Indian IT companies and American companies to outsource bright talents to
U.S from India. Therefore, they would be impelled to outsource the software
development in India which would result in the arrival as well as consumption
of increased amount of dollars in India itself. This would, in particular, help
the economy to improve.
Thus, even
if Indian companies lose on profit due to Donald Trump proposed policy on H1-B
visa, keeping geniuses within the country would help the overall economy to
grow and prosper with their acquired incomes. But this is only possible if
India provides the STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics)
graduates with the required sources and employment.
